Declaring Independence or Not?
This project integrates the social studies curriculum with online research, Google Docs, Comic Life, iPhoto, iMovie, and GarageBand. Students will work in pairs. One student will research a patriot and the partner will research a loyalist. The pair will communicate with each other using Google Docs to create a six line debate where each historical figure is making statements similar to what they would have said over 230 years ago. The debate will then be displayed using Comic Life where pictures of the historical figures will have a six-framed debate, three frames from each person. Students then take screen shots of the six frames. These images will be dragged into an iPhoto album. These six frames will be used in iMovie. Students will then narrate their six-framed debate. Students will also create a title frame and musical introduction using GarageBand. Students will then compress their iMovie into a Quicktime movie file. These QT movie files will be combined into an iMovie class project.
